In protected tomato cultivation, these amendments influence nitrogen dynamics and microbial activities, directly affecting greenhouse gas emissions. Biochar improves soil structure, enhances water retention, and provides a stable carbon source, leading to reduced N₂O emissions by promoting complete nitrification and denitrification processes.
